Where does your brand win?

Your brand needs to be visible where customers discover, research and buy. A strong shelf presence gets your product noticed in-store, while an active online presence helps people discover it, learn more and take the next step. Together, they create more opportunities to turn interest into a purchase.

On the shelf: give them a reason to choose you

In a busy retail aisle, your packaging needs to attract attention and communicate quickly. What is the product? Who is it for? Why should someone choose it?

Colour, typography, imagery and clear product information all play a role. An eye-catching design can spark interest, but shoppers also need to understand the value. Whether that’s flavour, convenience, quality or price, your packaging should make the reason to buy easy to see.

In the feed: turn attention into interest

On TikTok, Facebook and Instagram, your brand competes with everything else in someone’s feed. Does your content give them a reason to stop scrolling?

A recipe, demonstration or well-shot product video can show something the pack alone cannot. It can help people imagine using your product and see how it fits into their lives.

Then comes the next step. Can they find your website, learn more, locate a stockist or buy online? A strong post needs a useful digital footprint behind it. Interest can fade quickly if basic information is difficult to find.

Do the two compliment each other?

The balance between online and in-store purchasing depends on your industry, product and audience. Some customers will discover you online and buy in-store. Others will notice your packaging first and search for you later.

Your shelf presence and digital presence should support that journey. Consistent branding helps people recognise you, while content adds demonstrations, inspiration and information beyond the packaging.

If your feed creates one expectation and your packaging presents another, that connection becomes harder to make. When they work together, each gives customers another reason to notice, explore and choose your brand.
